About Solitaire
Solitaire (also known as Klondike or patience) is the card game generations of computer users grew up with, and this free online version brings it to your browser on phones, tablets and computers with nothing to install. The aim is simple: move all fifty-two cards onto the four foundation piles, one per suit, building each from Ace up to King. Seven tableau columns are dealt at the start with only their top cards face up. On the tableau you build downward in alternating colours: a red six on a black seven, then a black five on the red six, and you can move whole runs of cards between columns to uncover the face-down cards beneath. Only a King, or a run starting with a King, can fill an empty column. When you are stuck, turn cards from the stock: choose Draw 1 for a relaxed game that is won more often, or Draw 3 for the classic challenge where only every third card is directly playable. This version is built to feel quick and smooth on a small screen. Tap any card and it jumps to the best place it can go: straight to its foundation when possible, or drag cards wherever you like with a mouse or your finger. Long columns squeeze automatically to fit the screen, every move animates, Undo is always available, and once every card is face up the game finishes itself with a flourish. Each deal has a number you can share, your game is saved if you close the page, and your best time is kept for both Draw 1 and Draw 3. Stuck? A hint after a short ad shows you a useful move.
How to play
Build the four foundations at the top from Ace to King in each suit. In the seven columns below, place cards in descending order with alternating colours, and move runs of correctly ordered cards together. Turning over a face-down card happens automatically when it is uncovered. Only a King can go into an empty column. Tap the stock (top left) to turn cards; when it runs out, tap again to reuse the turned cards. Tap a card to send it to the best place, or drag it yourself. Undo takes back a move, and Hint (after a short ad) shows a useful move. You win when all 52 cards are on the foundations.
Questions
What is the difference between Draw 1 and Draw 3?οΌ
Draw 1 turns one card from the stock at a time, so every card is reachable and more games can be won. Draw 3 turns three at a time and only the top one can be played, which is the classic, harder version.
Is every deal winnable?οΌ
Not every Klondike deal can be won, but most Draw 1 deals can with careful play. If you are stuck, start a new deal.
How do I move a card on a phone?οΌ
Tap it and it moves to the best legal place automatically, or press and drag it to the column you want.
Can I undo moves?οΌ
Yes. Undo is free and unlimited during a game.
Is this Solitaire free?οΌ
Yes, it is free to play in your browser. An optional short ad gives you a hint.
