About Word Search
Word Search is a relaxing puzzle of sharp eyes and patience: a square of letters hides a list of words, and your job is to find every one of them. This free online word search plays right in your browser on phones, tablets and computers, with no download and a fresh puzzle every time. Each grid is built around a theme: animals, fruits, space, sports, the kitchen, the ocean, music, weather, travel, the garden, school or the human body, and the word list below the board tells you exactly what to look for. Pick a level to suit your mood. Easy puzzles use an 8Ã8 grid with six words that only run left to right or top to bottom, which suits younger players and quick games. Medium grids are 10Ã10 with eight words that may also run diagonally. Hard grids are 12Ã12 with ten words hidden in any of the eight directions, including backwards and upside-down diagonals, which makes them a genuine challenge even for word search veterans. To mark a word, drag your finger or mouse from its first letter to its last; the selection snaps neatly to straight lines, so a slightly wobbly swipe still works. You can also tap the first letter and then the last. Found words are highlighted on the grid in their own colour and crossed off the list. If one word refuses to show itself, a hint after a short ad lights up its first letter. The timer and your best time for each level give you something to beat, and an unfinished puzzle is saved so you can come back to it later.
How to play
Find each word from the list in the grid. Drag from the first letter of a word to its last letter, or tap the first letter and then the last. Words run in straight lines: on Easy only across and down, on Medium also diagonally, and on Hard in all eight directions including backwards. A correct word is highlighted and crossed off the list. Find every word to finish the puzzle. Use Hint (after a short ad) to see where a word starts.
