Turbo Road
About Turbo Road
Turbo Road is a retro arcade racer like the old coin-op driving games: the road rushes towards you in 3D, bends left and right, climbs over crests and drops into dips, and seven rival cars race you over three laps. Your car speeds up on its own, so the whole game is in your hands on the wheel. Take the inside line before a bend, because corners throw you towards the outside and the grass slows you to a crawl. Hit a palm tree, a cactus, a rock or a road sign and you stop dead, and the pack drives past. Pass the rivals on either side, but do not ram into the back of them, and save your three nitro boosts for long straights: each lap gives one back. Six tracks unlock one after another: Sunset Coast with its palm trees and beach hills, Desert Canyon full of cactus, Neon City at night under glowing towers, Alpine Pass with snowmen and big climbs, Autumn Woods with bumpy roads, and Volcano Run, the hardest track, with sharp bends and lava pools. Finish in the top three to unlock the next track and earn up to three stars, and beat your best time on every road. Turbo Road plays free in your browser with a keyboard or on-screen buttons.
How to play
Steer with the left and right arrows or A and D. Hold the down arrow or S to brake before sharp bends. Press Space for nitro. On a phone or tablet use the β βΆ buttons, BRAKE and π₯. The car accelerates by itself. Finish three laps in the top three to unlock the next track.
Questions
Why does my car drift off the road in bends?οΌ
Bends push you to the outside, more at high speed. Move to the inside of the bend early and tap the brake on the sharpest ones.
How do I get nitro back?οΌ
You start with three boosts and get one back every time you finish a lap, up to three.
How do I unlock new tracks?οΌ
Finish in the top three. First place gives three stars, second two and third one.
Is every race winnable?οΌ
Yes. Each track is raced by a computer driver in our tests, and it finishes on the podium on every track.
